I've just discovered your blog and don't know what to say to be a comfort, but I can tell you that I lost my mother on Christmas morning. So did my (now) husband.
You're not alone. Sometimes, the holidays are really, really, really tough. And when outsiders say things like, "Smile, it's the holidays!" they just do not understand.
